This unique beer (7 % alc.), that is the result of a maceration of blueberry juice, developed a rather dark red colour, a compact foam and is slightly reddish. Brewed at Van Steenberge brewery, Bornem Double is a ‘vivid’ abbey beer. This means that after the first fermentation, the beer continues to evolve during the secondary fermentation, after bottling/ barrelling. This sweet lager, dark brown with burgundy red touches, has a fruity taste and a hoppy aftertaste. Its solid creamy foam collar is the crown on this abbey beer.
Few other double beers reach the level of Bornem Double. This brown lager is often served with meat dishes such as steaks, grilled meat, game animal or even sausages.

Bourgogne des Flandres, which is produced in the legendary Timmermans brewery benefits from very old and unique brewing technique called "lambic infusion ". During this process, a selection of the best lambics is mixed with a brown high fermentation beer. After months of ripening in oak barrels, a delicious dark beer topped with a creamy foam comes out.

The love for family and art is a most important pillar at Brewery De Leite. The father of brewer Luc was the 7th child in a family of 9. The friendship between the 8th in row, uncle Pol, and nephew Luc is deep. Cuvée Oncle Pol is dedicated to him. When introducing the beer, the brewer had conspired with the children of his uncle to give him a big surprise. They arrived with their father at the brewery ‘just to taste a beer’. At that moment, the brewer could proudly and happily present his dear uncle with the first bottle of this new beer.

After the main fermentation and secondary fermentation, the "Duchesse de Bougogne" matures for several months in tapered tanks.
