The barrels were used to transport port wine by boat to Belgium and were purchased by Lambic breweries. These barrels are between 60 and 120 years old and give a character of old wood combined with expressive flavors of traditional Lambic.

The Gueuze Boon Black Label "old-fashioned" is a gueuze with a dry taste.
The challenge is to combine roundness in the mouth and a degree of fermentation of almost 100%.

The light color, the balanced acidity and the taste of green apple and grapefruit as well as a long dry taste in mouth characterize this gueuze. The lambic used for this mixture has matured for 1,2 and 3 years in oak barrels.
