The friendship between the 8th in row, uncle Pol, and nephew Luc is deep. Cuvée Oncle Pol is dedicated to him. When introducing the beer, the brewer had conspired with the children of his uncle to give him a big surprise. They arrived with their father at the brewery ‘just to taste a beer’. At that moment, the brewer could proudly and happily present his dear uncle with the first bottle of this new beer.

Hercule Stout 9°, from Brasserie des Légendes ( Ellezelloise) , is made in small batches, then lagered for ten days in German oak casks.
"The Hercule is considered by many to be a classic – very malty, but dry, with a hint of sweetness in the finish, and perfectly hopped. It has a very distinctive and intoxicating spicy aroma of fresh spruce that suddenly, irresistibly, fills the room when the swing-top is released. This unique house character probably derives from the strains of yeast used by the brewery – and possibly from the fermentation in oak – because the beers are made entirely of malt and hops, without any spices or sugar."

Liefmans Goudenband is one of the most distinctive dark beers in the world. Originally called IJzerenband (Iron Band) – a reference to the iron bands around the beer barrels – the bottle gained its champagne cork when it was renamed Liefmans Goudenband (Gold Band). Made in open vats with beer of mixed fermentation, it is left to mature for four to 12 months in the cellar. Mature beer is then fortified with younger beer, so the fermentation process starts up again.

It is a fruity sweet beer with a pleasant fresh taste. "Duchesse de Bourgogne" is brewed with deeply roasted malts and bitter hops. After the main fermentation and secondary fermentation, the "Duchesse de Bougogne" matures for several months in tapered tanks. The tannins in the oak wood give the "Duchess of Burgundy" its fruity character.
