Liefmans Goudenband is one of the most distinctive dark beers in the world. Originally called IJzerenband (Iron Band) – a reference to the iron bands around the beer barrels – the bottle gained its champagne cork when it was renamed Liefmans Goudenband (Gold Band). Made in open vats with beer of mixed fermentation, it is left to mature for four to 12 months in the cellar. Mature beer is then fortified with younger beer, so the fermentation process starts up again.

It is a fruity sweet beer with a pleasant fresh taste. "Duchesse de Bourgogne" is brewed with deeply roasted malts and bitter hops. After the main fermentation and secondary fermentation, the "Duchesse de Bougogne" matures for several months in tapered tanks. The tannins in the oak wood give the "Duchess of Burgundy" its fruity character. The "Duchesse de Bourgogne" has a full, sweet and fresh taste: a ruby red jewel of 6.2% alcohol volume which is preferably used in a chalice-shaped glass between 8 and 12 ° C.

The love for family and art is a most important pillar at Brewery De Leite. The father of brewer Luc was the 7th child in a family of 9. The friendship between the 8th in row, uncle Pol, and nephew Luc is deep. Cuvée Oncle Pol is dedicated to him. When introducing the beer, the brewer had conspired with the children of his uncle to give him a big surprise. They arrived with their father at the brewery ‘just to taste a beer’. Cantillon is the brewer of Belgium’s most authentic lambic. This kriek 100% lambic is blended lambic beer brewed with cherries.
Pours a deep, bright ruby red color and capped by a very thin light pink head of foam that slowly settles to a thin film and leaves patches of lace around the glass. The aroma shows notes of sour dark cherries, earthy must, farmhouse yeast, barnyard funk, some lemon acidity, and notes of old, wet wood that lends a touch of oaky vanilla to balance out tartness and acidity. Fantastic beer and awesome fruited lambic.
