Oak Aged version of Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel. Dark brown color with beige head. Intense malt background, quite intense roast character, dried fruits, lovely candy, toffee, licorice, decent hop presence. Feels quite vinous with dry finish. Mostly sweet with decent bitterness.
Flavor has notes of toffee, spices, chocolate, dry fruits and ripe fruits, alcohol very good compensated, candy sugar notes, wood and barrel. The final is slightly alcoholic, sweet but not cloying, slightly bittery with chocolate and barrel hints.
Great Quad. Good complexity added by oak.
