

From the Verhaeghe brewery, "Barbe d’Or" is one of the four “Barbe” beers. The name "Barbe" refers to its brewery in the Belgian city of Liège called "Barbe d’Or". The Barbe d’Or Brewery was a medieval brewery in the old town of Liege (Belgium) and belonged to the de Romsée family. Today, the logo on the beer bottles is the coat of arms of that particular family.
Clear, golden colour with a blond and thick foamy head. Aroma has oranges, red apples, esters, doughy, light vinious. Medium carbonation, fine dryish and light oily mouthfeel. Sweetness is dominating by notes of tart with fruits. Dry feeling with cooked cherries is mostly the background. Still sweet though with delicate clove. Aftertaste is delicatly bitter and wedding cake with alcohol.
