Girardin Gueuze Black Label 5°
BLACK LABEL!!!
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, fully lasting. Body is hazy light amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately yeasty (barnyard, leather), lightly malty (toasted bread), lightly hoppy (lemon, grass), with notes of sour apple, grape skin, cask wood, clove, cedar. Flavor is moderately sweet, heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively to fizzy carbonation, lightly astringent. Lovely stuff, perhaps more hop bitterness than most, very elegant well-integrated nose, lasting head with smaller bubbles than most...just excels in all aspects.
