Delivered worldwide, Gauloise Brune by Brasserie du Bocq is a big, robust Belgian Brune with a deep orange-amber body and a generous off-white head.
Silver, Australian International Beer Awards, Belgian & French Style Ale Packaged - Abbey Style Dubbel & Tripel, 2011
Dark reddish brown, clear, living beer with a fine and generous white head. Typical, rich, estery smell (fermentation), scent of coriander, balanced. Special malts, full mouthed, balanced, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Clear ruby-red brown with a medium sized fine bubbles beige head. Interesting sharpish fruit (green apples?), bananas, something spicy, burnt candy, malt and some yeasty aromas. Medium to large body. Stronger yeasty and malty, less sweet, more bitter, flavours that hide the higher alcohol content reasonably well. Lingering bitter dry finish. As others have said - its not all that well balanced and there are so many better ones out there.
