Kasteel Tripel aged in Cognac casks. Thrill to that full, rounded taste, that delicate touch of cognac and the smooth, bitter aftertaste of this unique gourmet beer. Trignac is a real collector’s item. Only a limited edition of Trignac is brewed.
Pours translucent gold with a foamy/frothy white head. Aroma contains moderate malts (cookie, grain, molasses), moderate hops (citrus fruits), light yeasts (soap) and banana, grape, raisin, apple, pineapple, cask wood, vanilla and alcohol (cognac). Taste is also sweet, lots of grapes and sugar, wine notes again but now it starts to remind of cognac, faintly but it does. The alcohol very obvious, both as a warming feeling and as a burn on the tongue/mouth. The cognac flavour seems to get more notable as the beer warms up a bit in the glass.
