Dominus Double 6.5° -1/3L - delivery worldwide - is brewed for John Martin brewery. An abbey beer in the purest monastic tradition. Respectful of its glorious past, it evokes in a few mouthfuls, a typical flavor tinged with the benevolence of big browns, combining a coffee with the woody bark to better appreciate it in its mystical rigor.
An abbey beer in the purest monastic traditionline. Firmly rooted in its glorious tradition, it evokes has a generous flavour typical of the great brown beersales, blending notes of coffee and wood to which enhance its character.
It pours a hazy, brown reddish liquid with high roasted amber-beige head. The aroma reminds of wild dark fruits, a little caramel, a hint of yeast, and nice roasted malt. It tastes accordingly to the aroma, but a little watery. As to the body, here the portwine-image, as well as the comparison to La Trappe dubbel fails: way too thin, nearly watery. Very decently aged beer with very good balance . Pretty solid but still fairly standard, flavourful dubbel. Nice surprise.
