Verhaeghe Barbe Rufa 8.5° -1/3L

Produced at the Verhaeghe brewery, Barbe Rouge is one of four Barbe beers. The name "Barbe" refers to its brewery in the Belgian city of Liège called "Barbe d’Or". The Barbe d’Or Brewery was a medieval brewery in the old town of Liege (Belgium) and belonged to the de Romsée family. Today, the logo on the beer bottles is the coat of arms of that particular family.

Verhaeghe Barbe Rufa 8.5°

Barbe Rouge is a top-fermented beer. It is an amber beer with a caramel taste and it is also very hoppy. Before the second fermentation the Barbe Rouge is hopped a second time using the principle of dry-hopping. Barbe Rouge is a strong amber beer with a malty and bitter taste.

Clear medium to dark orange color with a average, creamy to frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. The aroma is quite fruity with light hoppy and caramel notes. Taste is moderate sweet malts, some spices towards the end. Full bodied.
