Struise XXX RYE Tripel (Bourbon Barrel Aged)
Pours a cloudy dark brown beer with a small, off white head on top. Aroma has loads of fruis, boozy notes, bourbon, touch of caramel, some wood. Aroma of dark fruits, sugars, prunes, the bourbon a bit faint at first but getting stronger as the beers warms up, light vanilla. Taste of Whisky, Bourbon Barrel, Oak, Wood, Caramel, Chocolate, Coffee, Fruity Hops, Spice-Rye then the Carbonation! A great bourbon barrel-aged tripel. The combination of bourbon and tripel is novel and the flavours surprisingly complementary.
