Timmermans-Guinness Lambic & Stout 6°
Pours clear cola brown with a fluffy tan head (no pink lacing as the bottle tries to suggest!) with an immediate sweet cherry and chocolate note with undertones of damp wood and musty cellars. As it warms there are bright red fruits, brown bread toast and some bretty funk on the nose. In the mouth there's a fine mousse of carbonation with an immediate lactic tartness followed by sharp cherry then a dry toasted marshmallow and burnt chocolate cake savoury note. The lactic notes reappear as live yoghurt joined with some earthy farmhouse notes in the finish. This is an excellent blend, and one of the few beers in a long time that I'm sad is finished now the bottle is empty.
