Achel Blonde is one of the few Trappist beers in the world and is brewed in the monastery of Notre-Dame of Saint-Benoît in Belgium. In order to get the name “trappist”, the beer must be brewed within an abbey under the supervision of the monastic community with a Cistercian tradition. These days it is difficult to meet all of these demands.
Compared to other trappist beers, the taste of the blonde Achel is more simple and has less temperament but is still fully appreciated.
In the mouth, the first taste is pleasant with a sweet hint of bitterness. The aroma perception in the mouth is long and solid and the aftertaste is not too dry. The whole taste is dominated by the malty sweetness.

To create this beer, the Scaldis Noël was matured for six to nine months in oak barrels that were previously used to mature Bourgogne de Nuits-St-Georges, one of the great Burgundy wines. The beer is decanted into 75cl bottles and placed in the brewery’s warm room to produce a second fermentation.

The Bush Prestige is a Bush Amber that, rather than maturing in stainless steel tanks, has spent six months finishing in oak barrels.
